The benefits of swaddling are well known. The snug feeling helps calm babies and make them feel safe, happy, and warm. If you're not familiar with the basics of how to wrap your baby in a blanket, here are some easy steps!
Swaddling is a technique that parents use in order to soothe their babies. Swaddling is wrapping a baby up in a blanket or cloth, usually to mimic the feeling of being in the womb. It's best to use a square-shaped receiving blanket.
We recommend bamboo swaddles because they are super soft and gentle on baby's delicate skin. Bamboo swaddle blankets are also breathable, which helps with over heating, and sensitive skin allergies.
The first step in swaddling your baby is to spread the swaddle blanket out with one of the corners folded. Make sure your baby is in the center of the swaddle and their head is above the folded corner. Your babies arms should be straight down.
Next, wrap the left corner of the swaddle blanket over your baby. Bring the bottom corner, by your babies feet, over their feet.
Then bring the right corner of the swaddle blanket over your baby. Your babies neck and head should be exposed.
Be sure the blanket is not too tight or constricting. Your baby should be able to wiggle their arms and legs but not much.
